4000 Pounds Of Wegmans Soups Recalled After Reports Of Plastic ...

WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - A Massachusetts-based food company is recalling nearly 4,000 pounds of soup products after consumers found bits of plastic in the soups.

The soup made by Blount Fine Foods were sold at Wegmans supermarkets in Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The following products under the Wegmans Food Markets label are being recalled:

  • 16 ounce cups of Chicken and Dumpling Soup with a ?use by? date of August 24
  • 16 ounce cups of Gazpacho Soup with a ?use by? date of September 2
  • 16 ounce cups of Italian Wedding Style Soup with Meatballs, Tomato Basil with Orzo, Caribbean Black Bean and Lobster Bisque ? all with ?use by? dates of September 3

No injuries have been reported as a result of the soups.
